MIST 2021 Tournaments Will Be Online

Assalamu alaikum (peace be upon you),

We hope this post finds you in a good state of health and faith. In 2020, a majority of the MIST regional tournaments were canceled out of concern for COVID-19. In efforts to provide an enriching experience for competitors, while avoiding the increased possibility of exposure through an in-person event, a number of MIST tournaments were held online.

As a result of the increasing cases of COVID-19 across North America, including projections for future restrictions of in-person events, all MIST regional tournaments in 2021 will be held online. Competitors should prepare for fully online events this upcoming Spring.

The MIST directors will continue monitoring the progress of restrictions across the continent, as well as guidance from public health professionals and officials, for any possible changes in programming. Regardless, all active regions (including those that did not hold tournaments last year) are planning to host online tournaments in Spring 2021.
